Maori Name: Wheketere | Scientific Name: Nototodarus spp, N.gouldi, N.sloanii
Arrow Squid are found between the surface down to the seabed up to 500m.
N. gouldi are in warmer waters around the North Island and northwestern South Island.
The more predominant N. sloanii are along the southeast coast of the South Island and
in southern waters.
