Maori Name: Matiri | Scientific Name: Hyperoglyphe antarctica
Bluenose are found in depths from 100 - 500m in the temperate waters of the Southern Hemisphere.
They like rough ground and reef structures. Bluenose is distinguished from Hapuku/Groper by a
blunt snout and laterally compressed body with large eyes.
