Scientific Name: Nemadactylus douglasii
Porae are known as 'big lips'. Found on the North Island's north eastern coast, at
depths of about 10 - 100m, on sandy and rocky coasts.
They take 2 years to reach 25 - 28cm and may live to 30 years.
